Hailing the BJP as a “movement that connects with people”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday slammed the Opposition parties for calling it a “poll winning machine.” “If BJP wins polls, it’s called poll winning machine, but if others win, there’s appreciation. People who say this don’t understand India’s Constitution,” PM Modi said during his address to party workers on BJP’s foundation day.
The Prime Minister accused the Opposition of weaving a “false narrative” to create “political instability” in the country. “Sometimes they say citizenship will be snatched, sometimes it’s farmers’ land, but they’re white lies,” Modi added.
During a crisis like Covid-19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, a new India was born through the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. Within its short existence, Modi added, Atmanirbhar India has already impacted all sections of society including the poor, women, Dalits etc. From providing them toilets to giving them a home to live, the BJP has connected with the poor like no other party, PM Modi said.
